  • The new Whale's Tail "&" flag is here...

    When I told my colleague Kate that I wanted to create an ampersand (&) flag to go with the signal flags, she knew right away which style font to choose. It's based on a font called Lobster.   • The retailer flag package

      How did we come up with our initial 107 letter package? When you break down letter usage in names, you come with a lot more "E"s and "M"s than "X"s and "Y"s. Here's the breakdown:   Then of course we had to do the "&" for weddings and kids rooms that have more than just one child!

    Our flags are made from a tough poly-blend fabric. Hang them anywhere! - in the kids room, off the yard arm or a front yard flag pole. The cordage is an equally tough, but pliable poly line with wooden toggle and loop.

  • Vintage postcard showing signal flags

    My friend and colleague Tanya Kelley found this postcard for me at an antique store in Connecticut. It seems as though EVERY boat in the harbor was "in dress" sporting signal flags. Life was somehow different back then and it seems they had more time for pomp and ceremony. Anyway, it's a great card - thanks Tanya!
